In 2016, US total imports of goods and services ($2.7 trillion) and exports ($2.2 trillion)
have contracted from their 2015 levels, reflection of a weak global economy.

According to the
US trade statistics, total imports and exports of goods and services
for 2016 showed declines of 18.45 percent and 2.17 percent, respectively, when
compared with 2015.

$578.6 billion (imports of $462.8 billion & exports of $115.8 billion). Our NAFTA trade
partners came in second and third positions: Canada with 15.0 percent valued at
$544.9 billion; Mexico with 14.4 percent valued at $525.1 billion.
