The Japanese
haiku poetic form
of 5-7-5 on -
often equated
with the English
syllable -
juxtaposes two
images or ideas,
usually
separated with a
cutting word.
For me, the
haiku poem is a
morsel to chew
on and digest
during the day
or days ahead.
We live in challenging times. Our future is uncertain. For many of us, each day is
filled with adversity and struggle. Using the compact Haiku verse, I call attention
to our humanity, our struggle, and to the situations that bind us.
