LISTEN TO
Heated ice

Rising seas

No stopping
the melt.

HAIKU POEM
ROSALIENE BACCHUS
Yo Shell/BP - let's kick it

Iceberg melting melting
Iceberg melting

Alright stop, collaborate, make 'em listen
Ice melt with fossil fool invention
Climate chaos grabs a hold tightly
Flow like a monsoon daily and nightly

Will it ever stop? We best hope so!
Turn off Tesco's lights - let's grow!
To the extreme we'll all be labelled "vandal"
Death of democracy - light a candle

Dance - go rush the guns that boom
Evolve brains with psilocybin mushroom
Deadly as dope - that's the TV melody
corporate news - the people's enemy

Turn it off, leave it off, better not wait
Better cut the bull, teach the kids to play
Yes, there's a problem, yo we gotta solve it
Repair our planet before Big Oil destroys it

Iceberg melting melting
Iceberg melting

Now that the party is ending
Prices sky high, oil no longer pumpin'
Quick to the pump to the pump no faking
Cooking CO2 like a pound of bacon

Burning it - are we thick? Simple?
Crazy not to heed warning symbols
Wear a hard-hat in this Armageddon tempo
Civilisation on a roll - no time to go solo

Pursue climate criminals till they stop stop
Bust way past left-wing head to the black block
The block is worldwide
Yo so continue to repatriate all Bechfront Avenues

Girls, boys: balaclavas, bikinis
redistribute wealth, smash Lamborghinis
Yes, there's a problem, yo we gotta solve it
Repair our planet before greed destroys it

Iceberg melting melting
Iceberg melting

Take heed 'cause I'm an ecological poet
Land under sea if we don't take over it
'Cos our lifestyle's a chemical spill
Unfeasible, unsustainable: bankers - pay yo' bills

Class war by the rich - hell of a concept
Makes it tight for humanity to survive this
Check the temperature gauge - so fast,
Politician say damn - oil is a drug, buy it by the gram

Keep our composure - let oil loose
Community, renewables - kick the juice
Yes, there is a problem, yo we gotta solve it
Repair our planet before consumerism destroys it

Iceberg melting melting
Iceberg melting

Yo man, woman, child - let's get outta here
Word to Mother Gaia
Peace.

Iceberg Baby
Sai Murray
TOO LATE
SAI MURRAY - of
Bajan (Barbados),
African, and English
heritage - is a writer,
poet, and graphic
designer.

He began his writing
career as a freelance
copywriter with
advertising agencies
in Manchester, Leeds,
and London.

In 2002, disillusioned
with the advertising
industry, he returned
to Yorkshire where he
entered the world of
independent film
production, working
as a scriptwriter and
script developer.

A year later, he left
the film industry to
focus on prose and
poetry writing. Since
then, his poetry and
prose have appeared
in several
anthologies.

Published in 2008,
his debut novel,
Kill
Myself Now
, is based
on his experience in
the ad industry.

He was chosen as
one of Yorkshire's six
most talented literary
artist for FWords:
Creative Freedom
2008.

His first poetry
collection,
Ad-Liberation, was
published in 2013.

LEARN MORE.

Some poetry reaches out and touches you; Sai's poetry
stretches out and grabs you. There is not a single sleepy
poem in this collection [Ad-Liberation], they are all lively,
intelligent, and they defy categorisation. I love these
creations. I think Sai's work is original, adventurous, and
refreshingly relevant.

[Sai] writes with humour, angry-yet-calm honesty and also
barefaced cheek.
