Left behind as waste living on morsels debased. When I’m scrapped, who cares?

They cannot run, they cannot hide
Or take a journey far and wide
Driven from their dwelling place
Abandoned by the human race
No battle cry, no mournful sound
Echoes from the earth around
In an age they did not know
Battered lives lay more and more
Fears and compassion slowly die
Like withered leaves beneath the sky
Wandering feet must tread the soil
Where fathers stooped in constant toil
A broken promise, shattered dream
Flowing like a passing stream
Teardrops mingled with the rain
Such vibrant courage will remain
To stand and fight for what is right
Searching for the truth unwanted
Those unloved, yet motivated
To whom are they obligated?
Bound by inseparable darkness
Captives of unbridled madness
Let shadows roam, they long to flee
Liberated---forever free.

The excellence of every Art is its intensity.
Poetry should be great and unobtrusive, a thing which enters
into one's soul, and does not startle it or amaze it with itself,
but with its subject.
Poetry should...strike the reader as a wording of his own
highest thoughts, and appear almost a remembrance.
JOHN KEATS, ENGLISH ROMANTIC POET (1795-1821)
