HAIKU POEMS ON CLIMATE CHANGE BY ROSALIENE BACCHUS

The inspirational story The Haiku Master by Takiko Morimoto (USA, 2014) set me on the path to writing Haiku poetry.
The featured poems were written during the period 2013 to 2016.

VENGEANCE OF HEAVEN

Mother Earth we rape

drilling, fracking, no control.

Vengeance of heaven.

TOO LATE

Heated ice caps melt

Rising seas swamp coastal belt.

No stopping the melt.

RAIN

Too much, too little.
Man trifling with the Ouija board
disrupting Rain.

RISE & LEAD

Rise, Grandma, the water is rising.
It's dark I can't see.
Lead the way.

HUMANITY

Humanity, enslaved

by capital gone rogue,

facing extinction.

IN DENIAL

Fires rage, no rain

children to our borders flee.

Upon us the storm.
