HAIKU POEMS ON INEQUALITY BY ROSALIENE BACCHUS

The inspirational story The Haiku Master by Takiko Morimoto (USA, 2014) set me on the path to writing Haiku poetry.
The featured poems were written during the period 2011 to 2015.

THE POOR OF THIS WORLD

Their heads hang with shame

before the rich who fleece them.

The poor of this world.

SCRAPPED WORKERS

Left behind as waste

living on morsels debased.

When I'm scrapped, who cares?

ODDS & BITS

Living on the fringe

no house, no work, no dignity.

Left with odds & bits.

HUMAN BONDAGE

Toil in dead-end jobs
Empty stares in long food lines.
Of human bondage.

THE TOP ONE PERCENT

Earth their playing field

Allegiance to no nation.

Only profits count.

NO SHAME

Robbers of the people's purse

from widows and orphans.

No shame no shame.
